I think appearance very important when somehere applying for a job, but it's not sufficient, because the most important, it's the knowledge the person.
The formation of the person is the most important for the boss to employ.

Well, I think that it is important to have a clean look, but that is different from being attractive or hansdsome. A person's knowledge is important of course, but, from my point of view, it is more important to be able to use it and share it.
It's obvious that appearance mathers, because if you don't have a clean and sober look nobody will acept you in an interview. Although, during the interview the most important is the knowledge that you reveal.
